About institution

The school opened on 1 September 1959, under the name “20 april”. During 1965 - 1969,a school building was constructed on a new location, where it is still today. Names of 9 600 inhabitants, who contributed to the construction of the school on a new location, are engraved in a memorial plaque, which is kept in the school lobby. During 1985 - 1986, the third floor was added to the school and seven new classrooms were made. On 30 May 1990, the school changed its name to "Nikola Tesla” Primary School, and designated 20 May as the School Day.
