About institution
The Music School was founded by way of a decree by the then Minister of Education, Branislav Nušić, as part of the Singing Society of Sombor. It has delivered education to generations of future musicians and intellectuals. Since 2008 it has operated as a Secondary School of Music. Nowadays, it delivers preschool, primary and secondary education. The instruments that are available include: piano, violin, cello, accordion, guitar, tamboura, flute, clarinet, oboe, trumpet, solo singing, traditional music playing and singing. There are four programmes of education provided to students: Music Performer - Classical Music, Music Performer - Serbian Traditional Singing or Music Playing, Sound Designer, Music Associate - Theoretician. There is a satellite unit of the primary music school, located in Odžaci, providing programmes for the following: piano, violin, accordion, flute, guitar, solo singing, traditional singing and music playing. There are also the Orchestra, Primary School Choir, Secondary School Choir and Tamboura Orchestra organised at the school.
