By the decision of the Municipal Assembly of Kula, from 31 October 1964, the Primary Music School was established, with the task of providing students with primary music education. Classes were also first organised for piano, accordion and solfeggio. The first principal of the school was Jovan Jerkov, piano teacher, choirmaster and teacher of music education at the Primary School "Isa Bajić". After teacher Jerkov, in 1973, Henrieta Parlić, piano teacher, was appointed a school principal. The following year, the trumpet department was opened, and in 1977, the school's principal became László Berkó, an accordion teacher, a former student of the school, who will hold that position for the next 25 years. Three years later, in 1980, a satellite unit of the school in Ruski Krstur was opened. In 1981, the violin department was opened, in 1984 the art tamburitza department started working, as well as the clarinet department in 1988. In 2002, Kvintus József, an accordion teacher and former student of the school, became the principal of the school.
